As a Portuguese, I feel very honored that a dog of Portuguese origin was part of the White House and was with the Obama family.
When you have to put a name of puppies, you should use something from oceans.
Atlantic or Aboi
Barracuda or Barrie
Clam or Coral
Dolphin or Dager ^
and so on
